Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts

A revitalized Medvedev won his initial championship for over two years with a win over opponent Moutet in the competition title decider.

Medvedev, a former top-ranked player, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the US Open.

The player's varied form on the professional circuit - and difficulties with his serving in particular - resulted in him dropping out of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Presently training with Johansson and Goetzke, he has consistently improved in the recent weeks - climaxing in a closely contested competitive victory over opponent Moutet.

It is the player's first championship following the Rome competition and first on a hard court since spring of 2023.

Success also signifies he has achieved twenty-one championships at 21 different events.

"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my both daughters together, so to win a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 the champion.

"This victory is in tribute of my younger daughter her name, because the initial championship I won when my child her name was delivered was for her."

The athlete, the former major winner, had failed in his previous six championship matches, including in that event earlier this year.

His defensive strategy and frequent outbursts on court had caused some to doubt if his ability to perform at the elite level was concluded.

Yet the 29-year-old has implemented adjustments in the past month, striving to advance forward and perform assertively, backed up by an better service.

Medvedev came back from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Moutet, taking four of the final five games to take the lead.

Both players exchanged breaks in the middle set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour title, gained dominance to force a third set.

The opponent saved four early-game opportunities in a close deciding set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to serve for the match.

Appropriately, the winner secured the win with a rally at the net, with the Frenchman incapable to control a shot after a lengthy match.
